Why should you be switching to Egg Coffee immediately!
Coffee is to Vietnam what caffeine is to coffee lovers. If you have been to Vietnam then you would know this for a fact and if you live there then you sure are on team coffee. So what if someone told you that your all-time favorite beverage can also have a healthier, frothier and stronger edge to it? This is where Egg Coffee comes in.
Introduction to Egg Coffee
Coffee with egg might be new to the world but to the locals of Vietnam at least, it has been long served in the Vietnamese and Scandinavian cultures, with grounded coffee beans that are mixed with egg and then brought to a boil to offer that dense and strong caffeine dose. Experts say that proteins in the egg whites, when exposed to high temperatures, break apart and bind to substances in the coffee blend that originally caused the bitterness. Because of this the acridness of the coffee goes down and with it, the bitterness of the blend comes down as well, leaving the coffee with a pure and divine caffeine dosage.
Why prefer Hanoi Egg Coffee?
Endurance athletes have been known to favor this drink very often and why not; it is an ideal blend of what tastes great and still is healthy enough to intake. Nutrition wise, coffee has always been known to give performance boosts to the body and eggs are known for their protein and fat. A combination of these two will definitely result in a healthy morning drink that keeps you full for longer and manages to keep you charged better in the day.
Find the best Egg Coffee
Egg coffee is a fairly old and widely accepted concept. It is a creamy soft and meringue like egg white foam that retains the caffeine essence in the coffee, only in a less bitter form.

In Hanoi the best coffee comes with egg yolk

A milk shortage in the 1940s led an enterprising barman to cast around for alternatives – and so cà phê trúng, Vietnamese egg coffee, was born
How do you take your coffee? With a little egg, butter and cheese? In the Vietnamese capital, that’s how it’s served at the famous Hanoi Egg Coffee located at 10 Hang Muoi Street, Old quarter, Hanoi,Vietnam

On one of the endlessly busy streets in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, tourists and locals alike can be seen searching for the almost-hidden cafe down a narrow alley where the original cà phê trúng (egg coffee) can be found.

On the menu is an array of drinks but all anyone is ordering is this beverage, in hot or cold versions. The hot one, served with the cup sitting in a small dish of hot water to maintain its temperature, is almost too thick to drink, so I use a small spoon.
Hanoi Egg Coffee invented the drink in 1946 while working as a bartender at the city’s Sofitel Legend Metropole hotel. At the time, milk was scarce in Vietnam so whisked egg yolk was used as a replacement. Other Hanoi cafes have attempted to imitate the drink, but the packed venue offering the authentic version is still the most popular spot in town for an egg coffee fix.Coffee powder, condensed milk, a little butter and cheese are also added to the mix

Egg coffee in Hanoi
An egg coffee (Vietnamese: Cà phê trung) is a Vietnamese drink which is traditionally prepared with egg yolks, sugar, condensed milk and robusta coffee. The drink is made by beating egg yolks with sugar and coffee, then extracting the coffee into the half of the cup, followed by a similar amount of egg cream, which is prepared by heating and beating the yolks.

The drink is served in cafes throughout Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and has been a staple since the 1950s, with one barista describing it as appearing on "every cafe menu". The Hanoi Egg Café (Vietnamese: Càfe Trung Hanoi ) in particular is known for serving the drink, which it makes with chicken egg yolk, coffee powder, condensed milk (cheese optionally). The cup is served inside a bowl of hot water to retain its temperature. The son of the café's founder claims that his father developed the recipe for the drink when milk was scarce in Vietnam, replacing the dairy product with egg yolk.

Ingredients and preparation
Ingredients for making coffee include fresh chicken eggs, sugar, milk, coffee. Egg yolks are hand-wiped with milk, sugar, and then boiled. The cup of coffee floats in a fragrant brown color. Egg coffee is made from egg yolks blended in with coffee, which is then well blended, and hot or ice coffee is poured into the beaten eggs, which will form a beautiful and aromatic foam. A teaspoon is also provided in order to eat the cream foam before drinking the coffee at the bottom.

Egg coffee is contained in a small cup. To keep the drink warm, the waiter puts a cup of coffee in a bowl of warm water. After being poured over the cream made from eggs, the coffee at the bottom of the cup acquires a richer taste. In the past, eggs were just hand-beaten, so it took time and the foam of the eggs could not be achieved. Now, after the eggs have been smoothed with the machine, hot or ice coffee is added, together with cocoa eggs, egg white beans and matcha (tea powder) eggs. It can be served either hot or ice.

The coffee is brewed in a small cup with a filter before the addition of a well-whisked mixture of the yolk and other ingredients. The cup is placed in a bowl of hot water to keep its temperature.
My father developed the recipe in days when milk was scarce in Vietnam. He used egg yolks to replace milk.

Whatever the time goes by, the coffee is pretty delicious mixed by the whole materials as eggs, milk, coffee that you will find them so amazing and unforgettable. The egg flavor is really fat, the coffee flavor are really both fragrant and bold. But the most important factor that make Giang Café unique and different from other restaurants is the formula how to measure exactly the fixed amount of eggs and coffee and the way to mix them perfectly that will decrease maximum the egg sickliness. Although there is a list of another drinks, egg coffee can be called as the best one and become best choice for Hanoi Street Food Tour Packages
